Coming Next Year | BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon Edition
BMW offer the greenest and the most fuel efficient 3 Series by introducing the new BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon. The car will be the first sub 110 g/km premium segment car from the company and will have a 35 GBP (approx. Rs. 2,800) tax tag a year on account of the Vehicle Excise Duty band B rank.
The newest model records carbon dioxide emissions of just 109 g/km and has a combined consumption mileage figure of 68.9 miles to the gallon. The vehicle features a 1995 cc engine which delivers class-leading performance. The turbocharged diesel unit has an all-aluminium crankcase and third gen common rail injection technology.
The new BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon is capable of producing 163 hp from 3500 to 4200 rpm and a torque of 360 Nm from 1750 to 3000 rpm. The car has a top speed of 137 miles per hour and can do zero to sixty-two miles per hour in 8.2 seconds. The performance of the BMW is enhanced due to a longer rear axle transmission ratio, changes to the engine construction, aerodynamic alloy wheels with Michelin EnergySaver tyres and a suspension which has been lowered.
The car even sports a dual mass flywheel which smoothes out engine vibrations and increases motoring comfort. The new BMW 3320d EfficientDynamics Saloon is fitted with Auto Start Stop, Electric Power Steering and Brake Energy Regeneration. The car will have specifications on par with the BMW 320d SE, such as multi-function leather steering wheel, and rear Park Distance Control. The new BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon is to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show and is scheduled to go on sale in January 2010, with pricing expected to mirror that of the existing ‘standard’ BMW 320d SE Saloon.
