Official details of 2010 Kia Optima facelifted
Besides the exciting Koup concept car, Kia Motors America (KMA) also unveiled the 2009 Optima midsize sedan at the New York International Auto Show. Revised Optima now offers a completely modified exterior, which is more aggressive and dynamic than on previous model. Facelifted Optima is outfitted with a new engine that provides more power and better fuel economy! It goeas on sale in early fall.
For 2009, Optima also is larger than its predecessors, which complements its distinctive new styling and separates itself from other vehicles in the growing midsize segment.
“Optima is in a strong position to change the way consumers think about midsize sedan offerings,” said Tom Loveless, vice president, sales of KMA. “Already known for its exemplary quality, safety and value, Optima’s sleek new redesign provides consumers with a sporty, fuel-efficient choice and showcases Kia’s commitment to providing the best all-around vehicle package.”
The 2009 Optima is presented with new front, side and rear styling cues, which build upon Kia’s philosophy of creating dynamic vehicles that evoke passion. The fog lamps and lower front grille have been enlarged and the headlamps narrowed to create an aggressively sharper look. Wider side garnishes add sportiness while the acute front lines continue toward the back, ending on a distinctly edged trunk lid. To complete the redesigned rear fascia, taillights are narrowed to enhance Optima’s sleeker cosmetic appearance.
Also, new for 2009 is the addition of the sporty SX trim, which complements the handsomely-equipped, value-priced LX and luxury-oriented EX trims. Already available with Kia’s Rio, Rio5, Spectra and Spectra5 models, the SX line provides another dimension for Optima buyers looking for a sportier midsize. Along with a sport-tuned suspension, SX upgrades include: a black-bezeled front grille and headlamps, LED outside-mirror turning signals, fog lights and hyper-silver-finished 17-inch wheels. EX and LX V6 models are equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, and are fitted with Goodyear tires.
The 2009 Optima’s overall length also increased, extending nearly two inches in the front and one inch in the rear, to an overall length of roughly 189 inches. The larger proportions enhance the exterior styling for a lower, leaner, more powerful stance. All other dimensions, including wheelbase, remain unchanged.

Kia planned to 2011 Sorento
Kia is playing the PR game smartly. A day after news broke that Chrysler may build one of its most anticipated new models south of the border, in Mexico, the South Korean automaker announced "the name" for the crossover it will build at its new plant in Georgia. It will indeed retain the name Sorento for the 2011 model year.
The move serves as a reminder in the age of the American-Made Index that many foreign companies build their products stateside.

2010 Kia Cee'd facelift First Images
The new Cee'd features a redesigned bumper with a large air intake and rectangular fog lights. The overall effect helps to bring the Cee'd more in-line with Kia's recent offerings such as the Forte and Optima/Magnetis.
Engine options will likely carry over, meaning petrol power will be provided by a 109hp 1.4-liter, a 122hp 1.6-liter and a 140hp 2.0-liter engine. On the diesel side, expect the 115hp 1.6-liter CRDi and 140hp 2.0-liter CRDi to be offered. Although an engine stop/start system will only be available on the 1.6 petrol and 1.6 CRDi, it should eventually be offered on the rest of the lineup.
Look for the updated Kia Cee'd range to be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

2010 Kia Sorento SUV teased
Kia has released the first "official" images of the upcoming 2010 Kia Sorento. As reported earlier, the SUV's body-on-frame platform has been dumped in favor of a unibody platform. This will improve the ride at the expense of towing capacity and off-road ruggedness, but should pay dividends in terms of ride, handling and fuel economy. Expect the crossover to arrive with Kia's next-generation six-cylinder engines, and an efficient 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel powerplant for Europe pumping out an expected 200 hp with class-leading fuel economy. The 2010 Kia Sorento will debut at the Seoul Motor Show in April.

Kia Forte LPI Hybrid | Kia's first Hybrid Car
The Kia Forte LPI Hybrid is the brand's first production hybrid, the first use of lithium polymer batteries in a hybrid, and the first vehicle in Kia's new Eco-Dynamics sub-brand.
The Kia Forte goes on sale in the US later this year as the replacement for the underwhelming Spectra. While our Forte will have a fourbanger, this Kia LPI Hybrid features a small electric motor and a Liquefied Petroleum Injected engine, capable of combining for 124 HP and 41 MPG US. The lithium polymer (li-poly) battery will be supplied by LG Chem, who is also supplying the same battery for the Chevy Volt.
In addition to launching their first production hybrid, Kia also announced their Eco-Dynamics brand, a sub-brand dedicated to green vehicles (we assume they mean ecological and not just neon Hulk green). It's unclear whether or not this brand will make it to the U.S., but the company has plans to bring the Eco-Dynamics-branded vehicles to the international market.

Kia Cee'd official Images
The Kia cee'd is a small family car released in the European market by the Korean manufacturer Kia Motors in December 2006. It is available as a five-door hatchback, three-door hatchback ("pro_cee'd"), and five-door estate ("cee'd SW"), with a choice of up to five engines (three petrol and two diesel), four trim levels (S, GS, LS, SR) and either manual or automatic transmissions — and is sold in over 20 variants of the above in some markets. Kia used the Paris Motor Show 2006 to preview a five-door estate variant in production form, and a three-door concept, both of which were to be on sale from Autumn 2007, combining with the five door hatchback model to give a model range of over 50 variants in some markets. The Hyundai i30 shares the platform with cee'd.
The car was designed in Frankfurt, Germany ("in Europe for Europeans") with Miklós Kovács leading the design team.[1] Cars are manufactured in the Kia's factory in Teplička nad Váhom, Slovakia.
Cee´d is a great success in Europe and is the first Kia (and Korean car) which really could compete with the best cars in the Golf-category, not only because of the now famous seven year warranty. The car is very well accepted in the motor-press for it´s roomy interior, smooth engines, good standard equipment compared to price and feel of quality. The engines, especially diesels, are also fuel saving, an important advantage these days.
