Alfa Romeo Viper? Is it true?

With the epic Fiat/Chrysler deal being completed many auto commentators are predicting which Fiat/Alfa models would be rebadged as Chrysler products for the American market. Over in Europe it's reversed with U.K. website Autocar reporting that Fiat is considering bringing in Dodge models to Europe to be rebadged at Alfa Romeos. Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne is said to be pondering the move, saying that the two brands share the same core identity.

Autocar quotes Marchionne as saying that Dodge is the muscle car of the U.S. while Alfa is apparently the muscle car of Europe. If the right Dodge-branded products were to get to Europe, the theory is that they could actually compliment the products already offered by Alfa. The obvious problem is that there are very few Dodge models that could possibly perform well in Europe. The only models that are of any real interest are the Charger, Viper and Challenger, and there is a fair chance that the Viper could be chopped off and sold anyway. The Charger and Challenger are probably too big and brash for Europe as and would probably only sell in small niche numbers. It's improbable but possible that the Viper coould see an Alfa Romeo badge stamped on it's bulbous hood... or bonnet.
