Alfa Romeo Milano Leaked photos from production

Alfa Romeo's 147 successor, dubbed Milano, is currently under development. Recently, spy shooters caught up with a Milano prototype undergoing winter testing in Europe. Unfortunately, this five-door Milano test mule is wearing a significant amount of camouflage, effectively hiding many of the styling nuances both front and rear.

The Milano can be confirmed as a compact C-segment five-door hatchback by these images. Based on the same platform as extended family members Fiat Bravo and Lancia Delta, a host of T-jet gasoline engines and Multijet diesel engines should provide power to the new Alfa Milano. The standard Milano will be front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive will be available optionally. Expect a 265-hp GTA model to follow the Milano's introduction.

Best guesses have the Alfa Romeo Milano pegged for a Frankfurt debut this September. Of course, it will be quite a while longer before the production Milano shows up Stateside - if it does at all. Earliest predictions have new Alfa Romeo models arriving in the U.S in 2011 or 2012, assuming the proposed Chrysler/Fiat partnership becomes a reality.
