2010 New Chevrolet Camaro photo collection
Oshawa Assembly started to produce the first regular production Camaro since 2002. Chevrolet dealer and NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick drove the first regular production Camaro - his Black Camaro SS - off the line to the applause of the Oshawa Assembly employees. If you recall, Rick purchased this Camaro for $350,000 at the recent Barrett-Jackson Auction, with all the proceeds from the sale going to the American Heart Association in their fight against heart disease and stroke.
As this event was taking place in Canada, Troy Clarke was addressing a group of journalists back in Detroit participating in the first Camaro media event. During his opening remarks, Troy announced the official EPA-certified fuel economy numbers for the all new Camaro.
The new Camaro features design elements from the '69 Camaro and other Chevy performance cars are given a modern adaptation to the Camaro concept. The linear Proportions, short front overhang, longer rear overhang and powerful fender shapes all speak to its athletic prowess.
EPA Certified Fuel Economy for 2010 Camaro
3.6L V6 (LS and LT models)
With Manual Transmission: 17 City / 29 Highway
With Automatic Transmission: 18 City / 29 Highway
6.2L V8 (SS models)
With Manual Transmission: 16 City / 24 Highway
With Automatic Transmission: 16 City / 25 Highway
These fuel economy figures are higher than our initial estimates, and put the Camaro well ahead of similar sport models. Consider the distinct style; the standard features and technology; the 304 horsepower V6; and the $22,995 starting MSRP; and there is no other sport model that like this for less than $30,000. The Camaro media event continues through Friday, March 20, 2009. On that day, the media embargo will lift and automobile experts will provide their first drive impressions of the new Camaro.
