Paris 2008 : GT by Citroen
It's nearly five metres long and, as a fantasy racer, it's all about looks rather than production-feasible engineering. There are gullwing doors, huge air intakes, diamond-effect aluminium 21-inch wheels and an oversized tail end with adjustable spoiler, a huge wraparound windscreen plus a race-car style flat underside. It's all driven by a hydrogen fuel cell with electric motor - theoretically, at least.
Clearly a Citroen, the GT has large chrome chevrons up front, and is finished with blue LED headlamps and narrow carbonfibre rear-view mirrors. Its two-tone paint gives a white-to-grey effect.
The cabin is darker, with black leather upholstery, a low-set driving position, head-up displays with red LEDs and four-point racing harnesses; trim is in copper and steel.
GranTurismo creator Kazanori Yamauchi says: 'GTbyCitroen shows how the worlds of virtual and real-life motoring can join together to create a truly innovative partnership. To see the GTbyCitroen take shape in our game studios and then for rear has been a truly unique experience, as our work normally stays in the digital world.'
